Viticulture and wine production have a long history in Greece, longer than that of any other country in the world, and their origins are lost in the mists of time. These activities began thousands of years ago, in the prehistoric period, and have continued to the present day.
Lesson 2 Wine and Greek culture
In the second lesson, we will have the opportunity to explore the influence of wine and its links to Greek culture and religion. Meanwhile, we will discuss how Greek wine culture was depicted in numerous works of art such as paintings, sculptures, and ceramics. It is no exaggeration to say that wine has been a driving force behind intellectual culture, as it provided either a source of inspiration or financial assistance.
MODULE 2 HOW I CAN MAKE MY OWN WINE AND BIG SECRETS IN ORDER TO ENJOY IT
The purpose of the module is to learn about wine and the secrets needed in order to be able to make and enjoy our own special and definitely unique wine.
Lesson 1 Let's get to know each other better
In the first lesson, we get to know the organoleptic testing of wine and the characteristics thereof, which are evaluated during the tasting. Furthermore, we familiarize ourselves with the categories of Greek wines and we are guided through the Greek viticultural areas.
Moreover, we discover the magical world of food and wine combinations, as well as the countless benefits of the grape and wine for health. Finally, we discover what sulphur is, which is mentioned on the label of wine and is an ingredient thereof.
Lesson 2 Production, aging and... drinking
Lastly, we become winegrowers, since it is something very easy whose results can make us really proud! We learn what equipment is needed to make our own wine and how winemaking is taking place, depending on the color of the wine. We discover the secrets of the preservation and the aging of wine and, of course, how to enjoy it!
